Is Huawei P20 Pro Up To Something With There Three Cameras On The Back?

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Oh look, another phone with that little dock at the top, you know, I’m really convinced that the iPhone 10 started this new trend with the camera at the top, anyway I just wanted to point that out. Not specification wise but it definitely looks like they mixed an iPhone 10 with a Galaxy S9 and this was the outcome. Are they on to something?

First thing lets talk about is the camera. This is the first smartphone to have a triple camera, but what does this mean? Huawei wanted to step up the game with their cameras with a camera that offers one 8-megapixel sensor, 3x regular zoom of a regular 2018 smartphone. Another one is for capturing color information, and the other one is for capturing black and white color info. Huawei claims this was for zooming on specific objects with at the same time keeping the good quality of the photo. The phone also comes with image stabilization with an aperture of f/2.4. It seems as if Huawei wanted to confront the iPhone X with there 3 cameras instead of 2 cameras, but most likely that’s not the case.

Now let’s talk about the most confusing part in my opinion. The pricing customizations of this phone. Huawei P20 is around 649 Euros which is estimated to be around $800 USD. Which this is – $200 compared to the iPhone 10 which is $1000 especially for a photographer looking for a great deal on something portable and a smartphone as well. This phone is actually only available in North America excluding the United States, some parts of Europe, Asia, and most of Oceania. For price deals, there is no information to be found yet at least for the US.

Battery life for this device isn’t too great. Huawei P20 Pro has a 4000maH battery that is non-removable. Several battery tests have been done but the most notable battery test takes place with the phone operating at 5 hours and 16 minutes until it died which seems average for people who may not use their phone often, but definitely not for people who may use their phone all the time like CEO’s Business Men, or basically your average job. let’s talk about the dimensions and design of the phone. This phone contains 6.10 x 2.91 x 0.31 inches within its display making it a little bit, the same size as a Samsung S8 – S9. Obviously, the P20 Pro looks like your typical Chinese smartphone. Small bezels, round applications, and thin text. On the lock screen when we turn it on we immediately notice that the date and time are in the bottom left with just the background, just like the previous P20. Within the home screen, dock drawers, etc there is not much of a change to the previous Huawei phones.

In conclusion, it seems as if most people will buy this phone due to the camera, at least in my opinion it’s the most popular specification for this device that stands out. Or most people will buy because it is another one of your typical Huawei phones. In conclusion, I would rate 4.7 / 5 stars
