I’ve seen others use the Blackberry Key2 for a while and after doing some thorough research I’ve concluded my ratings to be a 3 out of 5
Here is something that is the throwback of a smartphone. I’ve never used a blackberry phone, but to me, it looks a bit like a mix of a regular blackberry keyboard phone and a pixel 2 phone. This is something that raises the question, Is the new keyboard we have really useful in 2018? I type really fast when I’m using my current Samsung J7. So would this enhance my typing experience?
The feel when typing with this device has a very satisfying feel, but it wouldn’t enhance my typing experience since you have to physically press down on the keys instead of just tapping the screen. This is definitely something that brings a bit of concern to since it would make your typing slower. I would honestly just stick with the touchscreen keyboard that’s on the phone.
In addition to this thought, a lot of people who I’ve encountered with disapproving of the idea of bringing back the keyboard, so we’ve sort of got an idea now about how far it would be to being your average smartphone in 2018.
Blackberry Key2 Screen And Battery
Screen sizing is something I usually wouldn’t talk about because most of the screens I’ve seen in 2018 so far are amazing. I for a reason like how to screen takes up the entire front. Mostly because for video viewing purposes, but this is something where this segment comes to use. To me, it feels kind of awkward swiping and or tapping on the screen because it gives off a vibe that you’re using a Gameboy almost.
We have 2 days of battery life which indicates something not too good. Over time I have noticed with the computers like Chromebooks, some Dell computers, and even the KeyOne have a long battery life but wouldn’t be considered the best device ever that would meet your average tech consumer standards. But when seeing many people use this phone I could only say we get a pretty satisfying browsing flow mostly contributed to the processor.
Blackberry Key2 Processor And Camera
But fortunately, by seeing other people use the Blackberry Key2 hands on I could say the results out beat other smartphones I’ve reviewed smartphones in the past that have a Qualcomm processor of around 800. The processor the Key2 is using is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 4x Kryo 2.2GHz, 4x Kryo 1.8GHz Adreno 512 GPU. But with just that small difference of the processor, I could just see the difference in performance in comparison to other smartphones I’ve reviewed in the past. It’s also something to do with smaller screens as well that would put off the browsing vibe a bit. But nonetheless, it is an outcast. This is just what I think.
Not mentioning the Qualcomm processing, we have an oddly very good camera. For a new smartphone where the main eye-grabber is the keyboard, I would never assume the amount of effort that would be put in the camera. For video, there is 4k, 3fps, 1080p, and 60fps, so it’s cool to know the variety of ways you can film with the Key2. The same idea almost applies to the two rear cameras on the Key2.
Final Statements For The Blackberry Key2
The chances of me buying this smartphone are lower than if I were not to buy this smartphone. To me, I type really fast when using my current J7, and I believe this would just make my typing slower. But I did realize over time that my J7 performance went down really fast and this one doesn’t, so performance wise I guess it’s a possibility. But nonetheless, it’s just another smartphone with a thing that stands out on it. Overall I would give this smartphone a solid rating of 3.5 / 5 stars [star rating=”3.5″]
