A couple months ago I released a Pixel 3 Predictions review, and from what i’m seeing now it baffles me. We have seen many leaks from the Pixel 3 smartphones. Many left us in a spiral of queries of what Google should do and what we. What we could do. It left the smartphone with good but mostly bad consequences. Flipping over the definition of what the Pixel 3 smartphones were really meant to be. But could the leaks reveal a more positive truth on the Pixel 3 phones?
Pixel 3: The Camera’s
In simplified terms, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL both have the 2 front facing cameras with a new selfie option. This should make the photo looking like it wasn’t even taken from a smartphone. But I personally would say it just looks like it was taken with the three camera Huawei P20 Pro. It’s pretty much identical from both phones from a far perspective. I would say that the P20 Pro looks better. So this kind of now gives us one half of the situation to worry about. Than another half of the situation to not really worry about (the cameras) if this makes sense (at least in my mind).
Other photos taken with the Pixel 3 XL which I’ve seen on Instagram are okay. I realized that the lighting isn’t a good as it really is in the Instagram photos. But it really depends on how much effort you put in the picture. Like always. Image above from technobezz
The Missing Notch, And The Design
A part of how this leak happened is someone leaving the unreleased Pixel 3 XL in the back of a Lyft car. The number one thing people have been complaining about is the notch. Even to me, this makes me a bit happier if this is true because one of the main reasons that brings down my interest in buying these phones but if this leak is true than I’ll start to like this phone at least a bit more.
I also realized that because of this the originality in the Pixel 3 smartphones design is almost gone. That notch was the main separator. Except overall it seems pretty pointless to get mad over this because it’s only a small notch that’s gone. But we also now have an unoriginal looking smartphone. It looks like the Pixel 2 smartphones if they were just more advanced and bigger.
I would probably only see one concern in removing the notch is how well the front facing camera would than perform. In the pictures we saw of the Pixel 3 with no notch on it I only saw a little bit of a camera on their, maybe one lens probably, so if this is what we would get than it would than seem odd to look at the front facing camera. Or it maybe another one of the high quality tiny cameras you may find on smartphones. This is what I think for the least.
What Could We Now Conclude From This?
I can make the strongest guess what’s been said that at the end one side has pros and cons sharing 50%. Many people are/were disappointed about these leaks.
But at the end of the day it still leaves a big question to why there are so many leaks off of this single smartphone series from google.
