So for my birthday on the 23rd I got a Nintendo Switch. Usually, it is very late for someone to receive a Nintendo Switch in 2019, so I wanted to see what it is like
For my birthday I received a Nintendo Switch, and now since it is July, the middle of the year, I wanted to see what it is like in mid-2019. The console has only been out for 3 years so far but there have been a lot of changes to it when it comes to software and theories of future consoles in the switch reign. It sort of feels like if you get a Switch in mid-2019 you feel kind of late but it is very easy to catch up on games within the community.
Imports And Joy cons
Future Nintendo Switch mini models are coming to the US somewhere in the near future. Nintendo’s main manufacturers are unfortunately going to have to possibly move from China to Southeast Asia due to a tariff import that may execute in the future under President Trump. Obviously, this raises some questions like would this be an easier port for Nintendo Switch mini tariffs to be imported to the U.S this way? Would this make the process faster or slower?
The joy cons I received are the traditional red and blue ones. I was thinking of getting gray joy cons but I felt it would give off a basic vibe on the switch. I was also looking at the dark blue DragonQuest joy cons which I also thought were pretty cool but these are only on sale in Japan, but if they were to sell in the US it would be fairly popular, out of pro vs con comparison I then chose the traditional red and Blue joy cons
Switch Design Theories
The switch has only been out for three years and many people have uncovered easter eggs and other gimmicks within the switch software and also exterior hardware but we can still make predictions. Nvidia has provided us with two possible models. The first Nintendo Switch mini model I found was basically the original but it’s just slightly smaller. It has the same layout as the original switch which can be easily adaptable to
One of the other Mini models looks like an older traditional DS or 3Ds model. Seen from leaked images the device also does not have any joy cons, which would be a big turn off since many people enjoy the traditional playing styles. It really just looks like a DS without a second screen. I feel like its more of a hardware than design focus with this.
Streaming Performance
So far the first game I have purchased was Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I noticed some occasional lag but I noticed that these slowdowns or freezes are due to specific arena settings within the game. But if you are using the same GPU for around 3 years on a gaming console I would kind of see how it would partially effect this region
Hopefully from what we see these lagging problems could be reduced with the expected Switch Mini model. Since Smash Ultimate being a very popular game in the community I feel like Nintendo would have to acknowledge something with how the arenas are set up.
Conclusion
So I have only had my switch for two weeks so far and I can only say it is really good. What I see so far is that it is very easy to catch up within the game systems, and easily adaptable. In conclusion, from my switch experiences, it is no different too much getting a switch in any other time period, but you may obviously have to take time to catch up. This is the best Nintendo console I have played so far. Overall I would rate it a 5 out of 5 [star rating=”5″]
