Razer Phone 2 Overview: The Adventure Continues With The Gaming Phones

Razer Phone 2

Halloween is near and it is the greatest time to upgrade your smartphone and I could say that the Razer Phone 2 is great for the season. My favorite thing about this phone has to be the organized screen. But there are many more possible things great about this phone.

Razer Phone 2

Halloween is coming soon on the 31st of October and I have to say. This phones similar to the S9 but the catch is that this phone is more determined to the central idea of enhancing the gaming experience for the user. It’s a similar situation to how certain companies like to add more cameras to their smart devices. Because of this, I wanted to try an experiment and propose a question at the same time. Is a phone mostly dedicated to gaming worth it even if you look at the specs and make a judgment for your self and see that it may be the appropriate buy? Image above by Smart Phone Plus

Operating System Comparisons

Most specs within this phone are mostly similar to the previous Razer Phone 1. Except for the main big ones like the operating system. Most to almost all smartphones that aren’t from Apple most likely run off of an operating system from Android or Android oreo. The Razer Phone 2 runs from 8.1 Oreo and Razer 1 runs off of the alternative Nougat 7.1.1 operating system from Android, so it makes you ask what else is new? How is it better than the Nougat?

I have never used the Nougat operating system much before. I only use oreo. Plus I Still would recommend using oreo, it shows many new qualities within the subcategory of user experience since Razer has decided to use Oreo 8.1 instead of Nougat. On my current Samsung, I recently updated it to Oreo 8.1 on it and the user experience is pretty helpful, there are new shortcuts to specific applications, new transitions with faster graphics especially with 3d gaming apps and better storage factors. You could probably have a better understanding if you have had the Razer Phone 1 before.

Overall it’s a great choice that Razer has used Android Oreo instead of the Android Nougat processor. Out of my beliefs, they probably used the Nougat processor to see if there would be a great mix but not so much for Nougat until they found out that Oreo was better.

New Razer Phone 2 Camera

One of the other huge parts of the smartphone besides its gaming qualities is the new Razer Phone 2 camera. I wouldn’t say that the Razer Phone 2 camera is the best camera I’ve seen. Judging by it I would have to say it’s somewhat similar to the Blackberry Key2’s camera. But the camera does have many coloring and saturation options mainly due to the Razer Chroma. Razer hasn’t put too much into this Camera beside the color options, there aren’t many new camera techniques for this smartphone

This isn’t necessarily the companies fault because of the idea of making a gaming smartphone. But I guess not on the contrary since we’ve seen in the past where the S9 has specific lenses for low light photos taking better low light shots. Razer tried adding two camera lenses on the back which is something they tried adding for there the new camera which gives it some new advantages but not enough. Specifically for this smartphone, if you want a gaming smartphone but also want to at least take some regular photos or photography photos this mostly ok for you.

The Big Gaming Screen And Design

I like how Razer made it so the phone looks like it could be a modern gaming console a little bit with the mix of it being mostly a smartphone as well. It doesn’t look much like a smartphone but rather a gadget you could find in a Sci-fi movie. I love this phone because there is no notch situation. There isn’t even a notch at all, so for this phone that huge discussion is almost completely shut down. It’s just the plain screen with thin side bezels.

This is pretty good for browsing user experiences if you are reading content or viewing videos. It’s almost equivalent to reading from a tablet, except it can actually be portable for you. The design is great especially for me since I tend to read a lot of content on mobile and sometimes would like to slide in a quick mobile game in there if there is enough time.

Specifically, the Razer Phone 2 has the same screen size as the Razer Phone 1 which the size is 5.7 inches big. and the size of the Razer Phone 2 is bigger which is 78.9*8.5m. which is bigger than the Razer Phone 1, just for a quick size overview to wrap up the appearance. The Final Conclusion

I do like this phone a little bit. It’s a great gift this Autumn especially if it is someone’s birthday or just a plain old Autumn/Halloween gift. Since we know the main way of how this phone can be used I wouldn’t give it the best rating if it were only asking to rate just the gaming experience but I would give it a good rating since I read technology content on mobile. The resolution is a great extension to add with that. Overall I would give this phone 3.5 stars       [star rating=”3.5″]
