HyperX Cloud Revolver S Review: A Revolution Of Crisp Headphones

Hyper X Cloud Revolver S

I generally like these headphones but I would say they would be just as good as a pair of Sennheiser or Focal Headphones. I would recommend these to someone who has been using the Cloud Revolver for a while and wants to experiment and make their final decision

Hyper X Cloud Revolver S

Like the saying modern problems require modern solutions this is what we should or could in your preference look at when picking revolver type headphones, maybe like the Sennheiser headphones. With the Cloud revolver S, I notice and could believe it is the outside physical features of the headset that give a slight contribution to the frequency response of the headset. This tends to be the case with similar headphones

The Cloud Revolver S uses 50mm screws to in a short sense make the quality more crisp by enclosing it with the 50mm screws. These screws do serve an even bigger purpose but that is a simple way I could put it. I notice less popular headphone brands do similar practices. This is similar but not too similar to the Air filtering system we saw with the Final D8000 headphones which have a system that prevents the diaphragm from coming into contact with the headphone magnets.

Cloud Revolver S Design Tactics

the Cloud Revolver S has regular headphones feel to it unlike some other headphones which may have an ear cushion with a softer material which is another thing I noticed when I reviewed the Final D8000 headphones but these headphones do lack these. It is just regular wear. It is nonetheless painless to wear and comfortable enough when you first wear these

If you have smaller or regular sized ears it may feel like regular wear since your ears are more induced into the headphones but if you have bigger ears it will have a similar feeling to if you were wearing regular beats, which are fairly small. But in general, comfort shouldn’t bet too big of an issue at all.

The HyperX Cloud headphones have a similar design to any type of Sennheisers with the side headphone speakers that kind of look like a Nest thermometer. I realized that the bigger the headphones are in size or if the better bass you will get within the headphones. Or at least if it has these speakers I notice you will have a better bass quality. Like the studio sound upgrade which can make more faint background noises clearer to the listener.

Microphone Tactics

There is nothing too interesting that could be found with the microphone but there are some features that are cool to acknowledge nonetheless. The microphone can easily adapt to group chat applications like Google Duo or Skype. It makes the audio very crisp and obviously getting rid of the choppiness, unlike other headphones which may have this issue. Most of the time you will get very clear audio especially for people who may mumble a lot which a regular mic can’t pick up. It is unique nonetheless

The microphone is completely soundproof and was confirmed by Discord and TeamSpeak for this to be true. So it just generally adds a twist to what we covered in the last section. IF you have used headphones similar to the Sennheiser PC37X you will know these headphones have low distance noise canceling abilities. So it has a similar concept to how it can capture faint background audio in a similar way.

Although knowing this these Sennheiser headphones provided in this example do not go too crazy when it comes to bass boost enhancements so you probably won’t feel the same effect.

Conclusion

Overall my thoughts on these headphones can be a bit neutral. I would get these headphones mainly because of the comfortable feel and increased bass quality. If you want gaming headphones that are less expensive and are more used for gaming than video chat calls I would still recommend looking into the PC37X by Sennheiser which has a similar microphone concept but more designed for gaming and making it less expensive with the cost. Overall it is around $200 less than the Cloud Revolver S headphones. Overall I would rate these headphones 4 out of 5 stars[star rating=”4″]
