There are many cool updates that Google has coming for the Android community, from simple updates to way more user friendly items. For Android 10 in this instance most have been small changes that don’t drastically change the software but there still significant to mention nonetheless
Android 10 or most notable in the Android Q family is now officially here for the android community and so far there have been many major updates to the system, but you first get is just scratching the surface. You get features going from an automatic notification reply and a sound amplifier, a similar system in which is also taken place in the Bose Nose canceling app- headphones I over viewed before, a bass boost changer.
The dark mode is one of the small changes that was added for Google products on any Android phone so that it has a black background. Obviously this has many vision benefits as some people may need reduced time on a bright screen, it saves battery and plus it just looks cool nonetheless. Its a three in one free deal
Focus Mode
A similar system that works is the Focus Mode that is also featured in the settings. This is a sub category of Digital Wellbeing mode. It is like they automatically integrated a Screen time app you can download for free already on the device. But this focus mode will now measure certain category apps that you spend too much time on which may be labeled a distraction. I could see this as being one of those things where you would have to spend time on a certain app and maybe it could be incorrectly labeled like with similar system but nonetheless the idea is very productive
Samsung claims this is for ‘foldable phones’ but we all know it’s mainly for the Samsung Galaxy Fold phone, It surprises me why they wouldn’t add any game-changing modes to the fold originally, but here the Android 10 software makes it adaptable on the Samsung Fold to play in different game modes like as if it were a switch tabletop or broadcasting a switch on your monitor, but its a simple fix, I feel like it was already an immediate turn off how it couldn’t originally do this but I’m glad they added it
Phones Eligible For Android 10
Again, like with any other ‘spotlight’ android update, theirs only going to be so many phones eligible to the update. Just a few would be all the Google Pixel phones, which is obvious as since this phone was literally built for the update and it is from HMD Global an Android child company. Except there have been reports of Pixel phone sensors crashing ever since the update was installed, like auto-rotate, brightness, etc. Unfortunately now people are just downgrading to Android 9.0 Pie. There have also been other reports
One Plus 6 to 7 Pro, which will be interesting if you take a smartphone like the 6T which uses Oxygen OS, an Android Pie subsystem. So it makes you wonder how differently foreign users will adapt to the update. The recent Galaxy S10 and any other recent Samsung devices will get the update. Huawei is expected to have Android 10 update as it has received some criticism in the past and was banned in the U.S anyway I would be confused how overseas introductions to the software and setup would all work but it seems mostly under control
Something that is also a small but pretty convenient feature would be the gesture navigation on iPhone 10. Simply if you have multiple apps open you can swipe right or left and it will open up to that app. Plus it seems pretty smooth when you would first use it. If we go back to the Samsung Galaxy Fold I would assume it almost acts like a Nintendo DS with two interactive screens with gesture navigation but this is a wide assumption. It probably wouldn’t be there at all do to screen display issues.
Conclusion
In conclusion the Android 10 seems to have its Pros and Cons evened out depending on how positively you look at it. Some devices are obviously more workable than others with the software but I guess it depends on how you look at it at the end of the day. Overall I would rate this software 3 / 5 stars [star rating=”3″]
