Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Camera Review: The Smallest Is The Best

One thing that stands out is definitely the lenses that come in 24-105mm with the 30.1 pixels in the camera. I would rate this camera overall to be an 80%-90% chance of usage more 80%

This is one of those cameras where the features in comparison to other EOS branded cameras sort of balance out to make a camera that the majority may like. I realized for most cameras that Canon makes is they don’t like changing the aspect ratio of 3:2. If you’re a frequent Canon user you may notice this. Canon probably doesn’t like changing this is because of the fear of the user having a bad physical experience with the camera. I’ve used Canon cameras with this 3:2 aspect ratio and I could say this to be true. Image above by Digital Trends

The amount of pixels that can record on the 5D Mark IV is astonishing. The T7i has 24 pixels. The pixels for the 5D IV are 30.1. This means they have been increased by 6.1 extra pixels. Although both cameras are 4k this still makes the photo quality still a little bit better. It’s most likely just a small enhancement Canon wanted to add.

I also find it cool how you can get a 61 point autofocus with this camera. In short, terms, if you don’t know, you can now make a more zoomed out image that is clearer. Even when filming with a basic smartphone, even some smartphones in 2018 you have to get a closer view of the image with the smartphone camera to get the focus on. The bad thing about this is that you have to focus on that object. You have to leave out details in the back, but this should now be at least partially solved with this feature.

There are three styles you can get with this camera. Body only, 24-105mm or 24-70mm. In my opinion, I would get the 24-105mm version. Because I used cameras in the past within this Range like the Hasselblad X1D 50-C camera. That is a 35mm camera, and it seemed fairly good, and when you can have a higher resolution than 35mm, that’s also a pretty cool feature to know about to get a bigger picture or video.

There isn’t anything new I noticed in the filming category. I noticed how much more weather resistant this Canon device is. I’ve seen videos with this camera where they were filming high-quality videos in nonsuitable environments. Most cameras that are like the 5D IV probably wouldn’t last long. It’s definitely useful for those outdoor nature videos when it’s raining, or filming a movie scene where it’s raining hard outside, or any of those scenarios. Definitely is it useful for if you are an outdoors, traveler/tourist. It’s almost equivalent to a movie camera in my opinion.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, this is a very convincing device. Canon just added a couple simple features and they have made an amazing camera. Obviously, it would take some time to save up to buy this since it costs around $3,000. Out of most that I have seen so far, I would probably prefer this camera only a bit more based off what I have seen so far Overall for this camera, I would rate it 4.8 / 5 stars. [star rating=”5″]
